The Treasurer's Office welcomes you to our web site. The County Treasurer is a constitutional officer elected for a four-year term. The Treasurer is responsible for collecting, investing and disbursing County funds. The Treasurer's Office mails property tax notices to the owner of record, collects property taxes, and disburses taxes to the taxing authorities (school districts, towns, the county, special districts, etc.)
As soon as practical after January 1st each year, the County Treasurer is to mail tax notices. Due dates for tax payment: Full payment is due April 30th (U.S. Postal Service Postmark is accepted) OR half payments are due the last of February and June 15th with no penalty. Any tax amount less than $25 is due in one payment. C.R.S. 39-10-104.5 as amended.
Delinquent taxes are advertised in October and the Annual ONLINE Tax Lien Sale will be held November 14, 2024 for real property Ad Valorem taxes. Delinquent mobile home taxes & personal property taxes are advertised in September, in preparation for distraint and sale. The Treasurer's Office provides certificates of authenticity for transfer or ownership of mobile homes, purging titles, and moving permits for mobile homes.
Public Trustee's Information
The Treasurer also serves as Public Trustee. The Public Trustee is responsible for processing foreclosures and releasing deeds of trust. Foreclosures are held on Thursdays starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Treasurer's Office. The following is needed to execute a release of deed of trust:
- Original Note marked "Paid in Full" or indemnification by entities described in 38-39-102. If the original note is lost, a Lost Instruments Bond needs to be obtained.
- Original Deed of Trust. If the original cannot be obtained, a copy of the deed of trust showing the recording information is sufficient.
- Completed Release of Deed of Trust Form. (MUST BE NOTARIZED).
- Fee of $43.00 is required. (If the release form is more than one page, add $5.00 more per page.)

Debit Cards and Credit Cards are available for use through the internet only and may be used for current year or delinquent tax payments only. The Treasurer’s Office can process in their office or by phone all Debit Cards, Credit Cards and E-Check payments. A few things you should know before you enter this site. The Treasurer’s office does not charge a fee, however the credit processing company will charge a convenience fee for each transaction made. If you choose to use a credit or debit card the convenience fee will be 2.40% of the tax amount with a minimum fee of $2.00 for credit cards and $4.00 for debit cards.
